Have you ever heard about “2001: A Space Odyssey”? Produced in 1968 by Stanley Kubrick, “2001” is known as one of the greatest classic movies in cinema. Maybe you have heard the music from the beginning of the movie which is very famous (flash the QR code below). Kubrick, the director of the movie, is also very famous for using symmetry, special effects, and impressive soundtracks in his movies that are always revolutionary. 

 

“2001” deals with 2 astronauts and an AI who are in a spaceship going to Jupiter to learn more about a black monolith gravitating around the planet. 

Our project was to make short movies with techniques like in Kubrick’s movies. We created several movies individually, in pairs or in groups. We had to include soundtrack (music and sounds), camera angles (shots, frames, closes-up...) and “breadcrumbs” (teasing for something that is going to happen later in the film). For the genre, we didn’t have to do a SF movie as Kubrick would have done but could choose our genre and story.
